Prince George, Princess Charlotte keep Christmas spirit alive with adorable church visit

Princess Charlotte and Prince George joined their parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, for church on Christmas Day, and the whole family looked absolutely ideal. They were joined by the duchess' parents Carole and Michael Middleton, as well as her sister Pippa, who was joined by her fiancé James Matthews.

Usually the couple join other members of the royal family for their annual church service at Sandringham.

The royal tots were photographed leaving a holiday church service on Sunday with their treats in hand - or in Prince George's case, his mouth - as their parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, followed close behind.

A heavy cold kept the Queen from attending the traditional Christmas morning church service near her Sandringham estate in rural Norfolk, England.

Prince George eats a sweet as he leaves following the morning Christmas Day service at St Mark's Church in Englefield, Berkshire.

In 2014, William and Kate were believed to have lunched with the Middletons before attending the Christmas Day church service with the royals.

This marks the first appearance of Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George and Princess Charlotte at the Bucklebury-area church as a family.

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh had delayed their trip to the private Sandringham estate by a day after they both became ill.

For the first time in living memory, Her Majesty stayed away from the service due to her ongoing recovery from a heavy cold.

This is the second time William and Kate have spent time with the Middleton family over Christmas.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: "Her Majesty The Queen will not attend Church at Sandringham this morning". The Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Charlotte leave following the morning Christmas Day service at St Mark's Church in Englefield, Berkshire.
