IPhone 8 launch could bring a 5-inch handset to the masses

Details regarding an "iPhone 7s" are very scarce. Citing sources in Apple's supply chain, Macotakara says a 5-inch iPhone might be in Apple's product plans.

Mr. Kuo believes that iPhone 7 was not much great of an upgrade over its predecessors, but the launch of iPhone 8 will be a game changer for Apple. This middle-child phone will pack all the same features as its siblings; however, due to its smaller body, it'll have to offer those dual lenses in a different layout than what the larger iPhone Plus model can manage.

Although Apple has persistently remained tight-lipped about its 2017 projects, ongoing speculation regarding the iPhone 8 has assisted in predicting what the upcoming smartphone could be all about.

Apple to launch the new model of its iPhone series as iPhone 7s with vertical dual lens in 2017.

A third iPhone 8 that cherry-picks the best of the two current models could give Apple a new sweet-spot - and a 2017 sales hit. For starters, Apple still didn't update the screen to OLED for the iPhone.

Japanese blog Macotakara claims that a 5-inch iPhone is in the works for next year, without specifying any of its specs.

However if Apple does make a refresh it is likely to incorporate internal changes rather than external. There are also talks stating that there will be big improvements to standard iPhone 8 Model wherein it may boast a 1080p display and an improved imaging. More information regarding the iPhone 7s smartphones is expected to surface soon.

Apple Inc.is supposed to be testing more than 10 prototype iPhone models which may mean that the features of iPhone 8 are not yet certain. This seems to be the iPhone 8, but the report doesn't mention whether it has an all-glass design (front and rear) and whether it'll feature a bezel-less display on the front. We are yet to know the type of technology that will be incorporated in this model.
