A Microsoft Surface Pro Killer?

The Lenovo's 12-inch screen is smaller than the 12.3-inch screen on the Surface Pro 4 but displays images at a higher resolution.

Lenovo debuted a new Windows-powered detachable tablet, the MIIX 720.

This model weighs 2.4lbs and measures in at 14.6mm in thickness, making it suitable for frequent travelers.

We presume Lenovo will also throw in the Active Pen 2 stylus, as the device has a special slot for housing the stylus and it would appear rather awkward if the tablet shipped with a big empty slot - imagine receiving your Galaxy Note without the S-Pen!

Over on the other side, the Lenovo Miix 720 can be seen sporting a Thunderbolt 3 port, a highlight for this versatile 2-in-1 notebook. The detachable machine seems inspired by Microsoft's Surface series. Additionally, the Miix 720 has USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports. It features a kickstand that can rotate up-to 150 degrees. Buyers can choose up to a seventh-generation Intel Core i7 processor with Intel's integrated 620 graphics, up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 1TB of PCIe-based solid state storage, and either Windows 10 Home or Pro with a bunch of Lenovo's own and borrowed software onboard. In addition to featuring one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port, the product also features a single Type-C USB connection, but unfortunately, it does not support the Thunderbolt 3 interface. It has a 1-megapixel front camera with infrared, allowing users to log into Windows PCs via face recognition. The tablet also has a 5-megapixel rear camera. As for the device's battery life, Lenovo says that the Miix 720 can last up to 8 hours of power. The keyboard offers 1.5mm key travel that enables fast and accurate typing. Of course, you can doodle using the pen's 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

Possibly the best part of buying the 720 over something like the Surface is the fact that it comes with a keyboard right in the box. Two color options are available: Champagne and Iron Gray. While the the Lenovo Active Pen 2 stylus will be available for US$59, the notebook will come bundled with it.
