Dolan And The Knicks Mishandled Oakley Situation From The start!

James Dolan, the owner of both Madison Square Garden and its most disappointing tenant, the New York Knicks, fired his senior vice president for security on Friday morning.

Oakley, 53, was arrested and charged with three counts of assault following an altercation near Dolan at MSG on Wednesday night. National Basketball Association stars past and present have come to Oakley's defense following the incident, including LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

Oakley said he has been told that Dolan must be informed by security whenever he is in the arena, and that MSG staff follow him when he leaves his seat to go the bathroom.

Oakley, who owns two vehicle washes, one in Brooklyn and another in Yonkers, New York, paid for the $1,067 courtside seat himself.

Of course, these statements completely contradict everything that Oakley has said in the aftermath of his arrest.

"I certainly think Charles should be embarrassed", Dolan said. Why the hell these f'n security guards in my face, why they looking at me.

Oakley has received nearly universal support from current and former players, as well as the media.

Late Friday evening, Dolan appeared on ESPN Radio and clarified that the ban was not necessarily a lifetime ban.

Despite the bad blood, Oakley said he still wanted to speak to Dolan in hopes of being involved with the team and even helping it improve.

Dolan went on to say Oakley has a "problem with anger", and "he may have a problem with alcohol, we don't know", per Bontemps.

Just another reason to hate loser James Dolan. Last year, he was initially denied entry into a game at the arena after Garden management were instructed not to let him in.

On Wednesday, Nolan claims that Oakley was being belligerent and was asked by Knicks security to leave. A lot of guys, a lot of people I know in life, all shapes and forms, actors, entertainers, I mean, I know a lot of people, so I respect them for reaching out and having my back.
