Joey Barton escapes red card after SLAPPING non-league player

Lincoln are the first minor league club to reach the quarter-finals of the competition since Queen's Park Rangers in 1914.

"It is unbelievable. When we started back in October it was a dream", said the 32-year-old, who has trawled the non league arena throughout his career taking in the likes of Norton United and Corby.

The controversial midfielder tried to get Lincoln player Matt Rhead sent-off, but just ended up embarrassing himself, and infuriating many watching the game.

They host Lincoln City in the fifth-round of the FA Cup at Turf Moor.

Millwall had already beaten Premier League sides Bournemouth and Watford on their way to the fifth round and victory secured their place in the last eight for the third time in 32 seasons.

"But that wouldn't make a good story would it. FairPlay to Lincoln".

Tempers then flared as Barton and Matthew Rhead, whose tension had been building all game, were involved in an incident that prompted referee Graham Scott to call both over for a word. "There's players here who have had to earn the right to be where they are", Dyche told British media.

Grant Leadbitter opened the scoring for Boro after 25 minutes, firing a penalty into the roof of the net after Stewart Downing was fouled inside the box by Chris Maguire.

The Lincoln striker had been physical with Barton throughout the match and the stamp and flop prove Barton's classless nature. In the 69th minute, he clawed the face of Lincoln winger Terry Hawkridge, and amazingly got off with only a yellow card for the hand-to-face contact, which you can see in the highlights above too. It was Burley's best chance and one that they would look back on in frustration. The only goalscorer of the game, Sean Raggett, has only been playing full-time footy since this season.

Burnley could not find an equalizer in the five added minutes and the final whistle saw Lincoln City add to what has already been an incredibly historic previous year in sports. Sean Raggett was the goalscorer after he headed home from close range from a perfectly worked corner.
