"Alien" Introduces Its First Gay Couple In New Scene From "Alien: Covenant"

We still have some time before Alien: Covenant comes blasting into theaters on May 19 and reminds us that it's never a good idea to bring a sick person into a spaceship, or that in space no one can hear you scream. Actually, it is a short film with the title Prologue: Last Supper. Fans believed that it does not feature any footage from the actual film.

While the plot to Covenant remains a mystery, this line from Daniels' toast to the crew does sound disturbingly like a potential synopsis of what's about to happen to everyone surrounding her, with the exception of that whole "be terrorized and eventually murdered by a seemingly invincible alien" thing.

The scene has the crew getting together to enjoy one final meal (and some booze) before entering cryosleep ... now doesn't that remind you of a certain scene in a little movie called Alien? Yup. Let's see what we can gleam from it. Now, it would seem that he might be the iconic first alien victim. His wife is played by Upstream Color star Amy Seimetz, which is an actor combination I never thought we'd ever see.

In space, no-one can fail to hear you make thinly veiled allusions to oncoming extra-terrestrial disaster.

Ridley Scott is probably going to include more than a few nods to the original Aliens franchise in his upcoming Alien: Covenant.

Next up is Michael Fassbender's Walter, an android based on the same design as David, the more menacing artificial person introduced in Prometheus. The film opens May 19 in the U.S. and United Kingdom and May 18 in Australia. The film tracks the crew of the colony ship Covenant as they discover what they think is an uncharted paradise but is actually a risky world with a sole inhabitant: Michael Fassbender's David.
