Lewis Hamilton: Mercedes's new auto given debut at Silverstone

'I don't think like that.

"We didn't have max power today so I don't get to unleash it until next week", Hamilton added.

"I really hope that the engineers, who are the smartest guys, are wrong". "I hope that the spectacle is greater and the most competitive that it's ever been and if it is, then I look forward to being a part of that".

The auto wears "Powered by EQ" stickers below the AMG logo on the side, showing that Mercedes is trying to increase exposure to its newly launched electric road vehicle brand.

Hamilton's relationship with Mercedes' management came under scrutiny at several points previous year, notably in the Abu Dhabi title decider when he ignored instructions to speed up in a last-ditch attempt to turn the championship battle in his favour.

"One day I will leave and another driver will come along".

Hamilton has taken two of the last three drivers championship titles but doesn't want a repeat of last season where he was beaten by a teammate for only the second time in his Formula 1 career. I believe in myself, I believe it is possible - but like I say I do need to go step by step, race by race. Firstly, very proud to continue with this team.

"It has been a long, hard slog for him and he finally got the title". I was hooked even more than I was when I'd watched it on TV.

F1 superstar Lewis Hamilton has voiced major concerns ahead of the 2017 season.

"It's going to be a massive challenge, both mentally and physically, particularly at the beginning to find where the limits of the cars are which are so different from the envelope you are used to driving in the past", he said.

"It doesn't help what I say here, we will see on the track and the stopwatch is not going to lie and we will see very soon how everything goes", Bottas said post the launch of Mercedes' 2017 auto, as quoted by ESPN. "But already just from the couple of laps I've done I can tell the auto goes a lot faster through the corners".

The Brit was on hand for Thursday's launch of the new Mercedes W08.

The first F1 pre-season test starts on Monday February 27 and the Sky Sports F1 Digital team will be providing live commentary from dawn until dusk on all four days while Sky Sports News HQ will also deliver live updates from trackside.
