Villarreal v Real Madrid

Villarreal will look to win their third straight match on the bounce when they host Real Madrid at El Madrigal on 26 February.

Madrid coach Zidane has told his side they can not dwell on that setback, though, as they now take on a Villarreal side who, with only 15 goals conceded in 23 games this season, boast the meanest defence in the division.

Zinedine Zidane's side are now only a point ahead of their arch rivals Barcelona but they do have a game in hand over the Blaugrana.

Gareth Bale still isn't fit but Pepe should be back in the side and we'll find that out when the team news comes in!

GARETH BALE could face more time on the sidelines this season after hobbling off late on in Real Madrid's win over Villarreal.

Mario Gaspar was the first to test either keeper when he collected a pass from Manu Trigueros before digging a shot out from underneath his feet that forced Keylor Navas into a full-stretch one-handed save.

Asenjo, who has kept a league-high 11 clean sheets this season, picked up an injury while making the save and was eventually forced off, but before the change Villarreal enjoyed their best period of the first half with three chances in as many minutes around the half-hour mark. Los Blancos must achieve the three points, because after the defeat against Valencia last Wednesday, they must recover and show why they are on the top the table.

Villarreal are a very good team, despite they were kicked out of the European League against AS Roma last Thursday. Check EFL Finals result and goal updates.
