Honda unveils all-new WR-V

Japanese auto major Honda Cars on Thursday unveiled its compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) Honda WR-V priced between ₹7.75 lakh and ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Prices for the Honda Car India WR-V start from Rs 7,75,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base petrol model. Based on the Jazz hatchback, the WR-V is available in two variants, S and VX, with the option of a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine.

The company said WR-V is the first model developed by Honda R&D India along with Honda R&D, Japan, to match the needs and aspirations of young Indian customers who are looking for status, comfort and have an active lifestyle. Similar to the front, the rear too is different. It gets 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, cruise control, unique style cockpit style instrument cluster, fabric upholstery, Multi-Information Display with Tripmeter and Fuel Level Indicator, 7 Step Illumination Control and much more.

While the Honda's newest offering seems to look similar to the Honda Jazz, it seems to have taken plenty of design elements from the bigger BR-V. The petrol variants produce 89 hp of power and 110 Nm of torque, while the diesel trims generate 98 hp of power and 200 Nm of torque.

#HondaWRV comes equipped with i-DTEC for diesel engine & i-VTEC for petrol engine.

The petrol variants are powered by 1.2 litre engine while the diesel versions comes with 1.5 litre powertrains.

Its maximum torque of 350 Newton-metres at 2,000 rpm is equivalent to a large-size diesel engine, the company said, with exceptionally high fuel efficiency of 18.9 Km/L. Both models will come fitted with manual transmission, with the petrol getting a 5-speed shifter and the diesel getting 6-speed gearbox. Honda has also added a host of features including a sunroof, the Digipad touchscreen infotainment system (first seen in the City), a front centre armrest, and a reversing camera with multiple views.
