Injustice 2 Will Have Friendly & Fair Microtransactions

Injustice 2 will have real-world money purchases in the form of Source Crystals, developer NetherRealm today revealed. Premiere Skins are essentially new looks for characters that can change their appearance and voice. The video also showcased actual gameplay footage of the character who didn't come much of a surprise for gaming analysts and enthusiasts, as NetherRealm boss Ed Boon already teased the superhero last December.

The announcement from WB Games assured players that Injustice 2 will not be pay-to-win, as these gear choices (which include transmogrification, shaders, and legendary skins with no stat bonuses) will not have any effect on how your character plays.

Injustice 2 is not spared from the presence of microtransactions. "We value our community and want to be clear - you can not "pay to win" with Injustice 2".

The line between hero and villain has become blurred as the most epic battle in the DC universe rages on in Injustice 2. Transform Gear allows you to apply the visuals of one piece of Gear to another piece.

Of course, it's anyone's guess as to who the next combatant will be announced for Injustice 2, especially with DC Comics' sprawling selection of characters from which to choose. You can also unlock Transform Gear with Source Crystals, and you can use Source Crystals to bring a character to the max level of 20, but only after you've leveled another character up to level 20.

NetherRealm stressed that Source Crystals will only be for buying customizations for the look of characters and that it won't affect gameplay and game progression.

Injustice 2 is slated to release on May 16 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
