One killed, at least 14 wounded in Ohio nightclub shooting

The shooting happened about 1 Cameo Night Club, in the city's East End neighborhood near Cincinnati Municipal Lunken Airport, WCPO reports.

"Numerous witnesses fled, but everyone that we can identify is being interviewed", Assistant Police Chief Paul Neudigate said. The motive remains unknown, although investigators have ruled out the possibility of a terrorist attack, Lt. Paul Neudigate, assistant police chief with the Cincinnati Police Department, tweeted.

One witness told WLWT that they heard the club's DJ call for security about 10 minutes before the shooting occurred. We will focus on reports from police officials and other authorities, credible news outlets and reporters who are at the scene. The Cincinnati police chief confirmed this story in a news conference, stating, "Several local men got into some type of dispute inside the bar and it escalated to shots fired".

Fifteen people were shot, police said.

On certain nights the club admits people age 18 and above.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich took to Twitter to offer his condolences to the victims and his full support of the investigation. Alok Madasani, who was with the victim at a bar, and an American identified as Ian Grillot, who tried to stop the shooter, were injured in the shooting.

"It's going to be a long night for our homicide units to investigate", he further added. Four of the victims have been listed in stable condition, three are serious and at least one person is critical.

They said there is only one reported shooter, although they initially said they were looking for two people.

"At this point it's unclear exactly what instigated the shooting", Captain Kimberly Williams said at a televised briefing. "Numerous witnesses fled, but everyone that we can identify is being interviewed", Neudigate said.

Williams said there had been "multiple problems" at Cameo in the past.

On its Facebook page, the club describes its Saturday night event as a "grown and sexy night" for people aged over 21.
