Retired Seahawk Marshawn Lynch visits Oakland Raiders

A new report from Ian Rapoport indicates that retired Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch visited the Raiders today and told them that he's going to un-retire and come back to the NFL.

According to Rapoport, the Raiders want to explore Lynch's condition and fit with a young locker room, leaving the final call up to head coach Jack Del Rio.

Lynch, who turns 31 on April 22, still is on the Seahawks' reserve/retired list, meaning Seattle holds his rights.

The Seahawks control Lynch's rights because he had two years remaining on his contract when he retired last offseason.

The Raiders lost running back Latavius Murray to the Minnesota Vikings in free agency.

The Oakland Raiders most intriguing storyline is their eventual move to Las Vegas, but in the meantime, they seem to be looking at ways to keep Oakland fans coming to games. If Lynch does indeed decide to comeback to the National Football League it will likely be to play for the Raiders. RB is my favorite position, Marshawn Lynch is my favorite RB and the Oakland Raiders are my favorite team. An injury thrust the young ball-carriers into prominent roles early in the season. The team would need to either trade or release him if he's to play for another team, Oakland included.

"I'm not celebrating anything like I would like to be", Davis said Tuesday in an extended interview with 95.7-The Game host JT the Brick.

Should Lynch come out of retirement, he is line for a salary cap hit of $9 million in 2017 and a base salary of $7 million in 2018. "You've got to talk to him".

Lynch's desire to join his hometown team in Oakland is merely the first stage of the process.
