North Korea Criticizes U.S. Strikes on Syria as 'Unforgivable'

-South Korean war games, which are held annually and are now underway, have raised tensions on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war. Hagiuda said that given the Trump-Xi meeting, the Japanese and USA leaders discussed how Japan, the United States, South Korea and China should deal with North Korea while working with one another. The launches are considered to be in violation with the corresponding resolution adopted by the United Nations.

CNN reported on Sunday that USA warships were en route to the Korean Peninsula due to provocations from North Korea.

Trump is not Obama and he isn't taking months to plan military actions.

On Saturday, North Korea has said the USA missile strikes on Syria were an "intolerable act of aggression" that "proves a million times over" that strengthening its nuclear program was the right choice, state media reported.

"This coordinated initiative could force North Korea to make real demilitarization concessions, while providing a win for both China and the United States", Markey wrote, adding that China has unsuccessfully urged the USA to engage North Korea directly for years.

Speaking on a TV program, Ichita Yamamoto, a lawmaker involved in North Korea policy issues inside the party, said that because of the nuclear factor, the United States would be more careful toward North Korea than toward Syria.

Like his predecessors in the White House, Trump wants China to do more to influence the North's behavior, but has gone further than others in threatening to go it alone if Beijing fails to step up to the plate.

When Trump was hosting his talks with Abe at the same retreat in mid-February, North Korea blasted an a surface-to-surface medium long-range ballistic missile from a mobile launcher that flew about 500 km before landing in the waters between Japan and the Korean Peninsula.

"The US missile attack against Syria is a clear and unforgivable act of aggression against a sovereign state and we strongly condemn this", KCNA quoted an unnamed spokesman for the North Korean foreign ministry as saying.

H.R. McMaster says there is no contradiction between comments by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who says IS must be defeated first, and Nikki Haley, the USA ambassador to the United Nations who contends that getting Assad out is a priority.

That strike group, once again, is headed by the USS Carl Vinson.

On Thursday, Trump ordered the surprise attack against a military air base in Syria, signaling he was prepared to act in the protection of USA interests. It was accused of having its leader's half brother, Kim Jong Nam, assassinated with VX nerve agent at a Malaysian airport on February 13.

"Armed with nuclear weapons, he would hardly flinch at the attack in Syria", Chang said.
