Crystal Palace whip Arsenal

Arsene Wenger admitted Arsenal's 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace was "a big worry" for him, but said the pressure is no different from what he's used to.

Though he hadn't yet started work Wenger had his part to play in the 3-2 defeat, suggesting "one or two changes" that left Tony Adams far from impressed - the club captain accused his new manager of putting Arsenal's season in jeopardy before he had even started work.

The direct style Sam Allardyce's side created problems throughout the game and unsurprisingly Christian Benteke's aerial threat was the cause of particular concern.

The London derby first saw Andros Townsend give Palace the lead in the first half.

"I want the fans to support the team".

"They just wanted it more". That dressing room is lost.

The result leaves the Gunners seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, with a game in hand.

"We didn't let them play and everything functioned flawlessly, the lads carried out the game plan flawlessly and to boot we got a clean sheet against an Arsenal side that scores plenty of goals". It's very worrying and disappointing the way we lost the game. It's part of my job to build the confidence.

Arsenal need to shorten the gap with Man City to reach the top four by the end of the season, but face a tough Palace tonight, which is never an easy tie.

The uncertainty over his future has been a major distraction for a team lacking the fighting spirit required to cope with adversity.

"I think it will be very hard certainly", he said.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: Honestly, I'm disappointed so much. I'm not in the mood. "The result is a shock for everybody but the performance was there against Chelsea (when Palace won 2-1)".

"It's not the right moment to analyse the game".

"I felt that we created quite unsafe situations but defensively we were exposed at times and offensively we couldn't finish", Wenger said.

The Gunners managed just three shots on target, all of them in the first half.

"After that it was more hard".

Asked if uncertainty about his future is affecting the players, Wenger added:"No, I don't think so". It's really odd. we were unbeaten for a long time away from home, and now we can not win away from home. "You could feel that it had an impact on us after the second goal tonight", Wenger said.
