Marshawn Lynch, Patriots could be a fit

According to a report from CSN New England, Blount has "an offer on the table" from the Patriots. I know, I can't believe it took so long for the team from Boston to be a rumored destination for whatever big name free agent is now being discussed.

If this rumor is true, the most important bit of info is that Lynch will return and play for someone else if the Raiders end up declining to meet his contract demands or if Oakland can't work out a trade deal with Seattle.

After landing star wide receiver Brandin Cooks in a trade with the Saints, as well as top free agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore, New England was shockingly reported as a possible trade destination for stud Seahawks DB Richard Sherman.

Lynch didn't play last season after calling it quits following 2015. The Raiders are still the heavy favorite to take Lynch from the Seahawks.

He knows that the Raiders need him more than he needs them. Would Seahawks general manager John Schneider even be willing to do Lynch the type of favor that would be necessary to get the running back to an East Coast team? National Football League free agency still has a high number of available running backs, including LeGarrette Blount, Adrian Peterson, and Jamaal Charles, which is why Lynch's contract value might take a hit. "The Patriots are probably still going to negotiate with the Saints, who clearly want Butler".

LeGarrette Blount may be getting salty because he hasn't signed a contract. Put Marshawn alongside offensive threats like Rob Gronkowski, 27, Dion Lewis, 26, Danny Amendola, 31, Julian Edelman, 30, and you might as well book New England's trip to the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis for Super Bowl 52. Coming back for Super Bowl glory seems so unlike him.
