Va. Amber Alert issued for missing baby girl and mom

Thursday night they issued an Amber Alert. Based on new information in the investigation, police believe they may have been possibly abducted.

Virginia State Police have issued an amber alert for a child abduction in Hampton.

Sult said he believes both mother and child are in danger.

Hampton Police are looking for Chloe Johnson who was last at 1900 Hastings Avenue in the city. Johnson was heading to Buckroe Beach to take her daughter for a walk. They chose not to disclose the specifics of the case, reports WAVY, but stressed it was unusual for Keir Johnson to not keep in touch with her loved ones or disappear for an extended period of time.

Hampton Police Chief Terry Sult said Johnson was "very closely family oriented" and that her being out of contact with her family for any length of time was a cause for concern. They may be traveling in a 2013 black Kia Optima, license VAW2197.

"Keir Johnson is is 4'11" tall and weighs 140 pounds. The baby is described as having brown eyes, black hair and weighing about 20 pounds. She was wearing blue jeans, a T-shirt and glasses, according to family members.

Call the Hampton Police Department at 757-727-6111 or state police at 1-800-822-4453.
