Arsene Wenger urges Arsenal fans to attend game

Arsenal maintained their pursuit of a top-four finish with an impressive 4-1 victory at Stoke City but the Gunners still need other favourable results if they want to play in the Champions League for a 21st consecutive season.

Arsenal must now win their three remaining games and hope City or third-place Liverpool drop points if they are to secure a 20th successive season of Champions League football.

Arsenal now sit just one point behind fourth placed Liverpool, Wenger admitted that he will be supporting West Ham when they face Jurgen Klopp's side on Sunday night. "We are mathematically outsiders but you never know", he said.

Wenger's claim that some teams are already "on holiday" was rejected by Pep Guardiola.

Wenger believes teams like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are stronger in Europe because they can play at a diminished level domestically, after the Gunners crashed out at the last-16 stage to the German champions.

Arsenal were runners-up to surprise champions Leicester last season but could end this campaign outside the top four despite the prospect of collecting more points than 12 months ago.

"When you say fans, who do you mean?"

"I'm not influenced by that at all, all I can do is give my best".

Kieran Gibbs is available following a calf injury but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss Arsenal final two League games with a hamstring problem and is rated "80-20" to be fit for the FA Cup Final.

Hector Bellerin thought Arsenal showed they have "a lot of heart and character" during Saturday's 4-1 win at Stoke.

"It's just a shame we didn't get the result we would have liked".

Wishful thinking maybe but you do feel that an in form and happy Sanchez is exactly what the club could do with next season in order to be in the running for trophies. We had loads of chances, it was important to get them in and I think the team did really well.

"We had a hard period and we have recovered from it".

Arsenal won this game at a stroll apart from a frantic few minutes in the second half and are desperately trying to claw their way into the top four.

When it was put to him that reports in France had suggested he will extend his time at Arsenal past the end of the season by signing a new one-year deal, Wenger said: "There is no information about that, nothing".
